Hair Styling for Production & Media

Prerequisite: No experience necessary.

Many photo shoots film, tv, commercial & theatre productions expect tmakeup artistst to also style hair. This course covers the fundamentals of basic, elaborate, and challenging hair styles.

Topics covered include:

• Safety and sanitation
• Using blow dryers, velcro rollers, backcombing, and hot irons for straight and curled styles
• Pony tails, braiding, updos, and pin curls
• Current trends in editorial styles, avant-garde styles, and men’s grooming
• Decade styles from the 20’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s
• Products for men and women
• Work expectations and requirements on set or on location in a professional setting
